Transparent glass is another way to go, whether the glass is colorful or clear. Try filling a clear container with sculptural objects (or one artful item) for an alluring centerpiece: If a grouping interests you, it never hurts to keep the colors neutral. Gray, black, beige and brass are a great place to start. Sometimes all it takes is greenery to add a dose of natural color.
We now take a look at nesting tables that combine to form the ideal coffee table solution. Like this Set of 3 SAIC Paradox Nesting Tables from CB2, created for CB2 collaborative Design Collab. This piece was designed by School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) student Arianna Petrich and features three tables that can be pulled apart to form what appears to be a 3D cube (as shown below).
The design trick with round tables is determining how much walking space there is around the table. Guests should feel comfortable in walking past seated guests, without feeling like a movie theater and saying “excuse me” for seated guests to have to stand! Assume at least 1-2 feet around your coffee table, more or less depending on the seating arrangement.
